The NITRO ACTION line up is coming to Calder Park on the 10th November 2012.
VPW and Kevin Dennis HSV are sponsoring a brand new points round that will kick off on the 10th November.
The Web Tyre NITRO ACTION event will be the highlight of a new points round that will finish in the later part of 2013.
With at least 4 major events scheduled at Calder in the coming year the action looks like it will really heat up.
The Kevin Dennis , VPW points round will give Victorian based drag racers a real chance to get there teeth into a serious points round with some really good money on offer.
The Web Tyre Nitro Action event will feature at least 6 Nitro Funny cars two being the famous Historic Niro cars from the Cowin stables in Sydney.
With a days racing forecast for the 10th November event organisers are hoping for a good turnout from local racers.
With a total of only 150 cars and bikes this event will fill up fast said general manager of Calder Ian MacArthur.
All brackets will continue in all 4 majors events and points continued into the next events.
Local drag racing legend Darren Difiliipo will bring his seriously wicked Niro Funny car to to the track to mix it up with interstate crews like Ricky Steffens and his croc Nitro Funny car.
Cars and bikes from all over Australia are expected to enter in whats looking like its going to be a huge days racing.
Competitors are asked to enter on line ASAP to avoid missing out.

Open to all Sedans running between 12.99 – 11.00, racing on a DYO elimination format. $1500 WIN
Super Sedan/ Vehicle (SSA)
Open to a wide range of vehicles running than 10.99, racing on a DYO elimination format. $2500 WIN
Nostalgia (NST)
Open to all pre 1974 build vehicles running faster than 12.99, racing on a DYO elimination format, XY falcons, HQ Holdens, etc. $2000 WIN
Modified Bike (MB)
Open to all Race prepared Motorcycles, racing on a DYO elimination format. $1500 WIN
Extreme Street (ESP&M)
Open to any supercharged sedan running a Supercharger, Nitrous or Turbo in a class index handicap system – full tree. This class is made up of two types of vehicles, ESP=large tyre three quarter chassis vehicles and ESM=smaller tyre (radial or 30x11.5 slick) stock frame vehicles racing each other on a class index based on their respective Calder track record. The ESP index is 7.50 (track record of 7.0 + 50), and ESM index is 8.00 (track record of 7.5 +50). A ‘head start of .50 secs will go to all ESM vehicles when racing an ESP vehicle and so on. All class indexes will be reviewed before each race meeting. This class is run in same format as all group 2 superstock racing is run on an elimination format. $3000 WIN.
VPW/Kevin Dennis VW Calder Park Racing Series - 2012/2013
The VPW / Kevin Dennis VW Calder Park Racing Series is a points based competition open to all sportsman racers competing at Calder Park’s 2012/2013 racing Season: Nov 10 2011, Feb 16/17 2013, Mar 30/31 2013, October 19/20 2013 and the finals on November 30, 2013. This series consists of Calder Park’s 5 planned events, with the competitor scoring the maximum number of points in each class becoming the 2012/2013 Series Champion.
• Competitors may score points at any of the above rounds (or in the event they are rescheduled at the alternative race date).
• Entrants may only accrue points as ‘one” driver/rider/bracket combination. Changes of class within the same Eliminator are permitted with no points penalty.
• If there are less than eight (8) qualifiers in a class, no points will be allocated.
• 25% bonus for points scored if all rounds are contested by the same competitor.
• In the event of a tie for a Championship, the title will be awarded to the entrant who lasts the longest in eliminations, or who is the better performer at the event. The better performer is the competitor who performs best in relation to their dial-in or index on the last run.
• Entry to the Series is open to all sportsman racers displaying the VPW / Kevin Dennis series decals on their vehicle / bike and registering on the VPW website (www.vpw/pointseries.com.au).
• Where any round of the series is abandoned at any point (due to weather or other reasons) after qualifying has been completed, the minimum potential points will be awarded to competitors (as far as the race event was run).
